HARNESSING YOUR FLOW STATE: 5 Simple Practices
In 2008, after a soul-searching journey to Australia, I took the plunge into entrepreneurship in the vibrant city of New York. The initial weeks were pure magic—everything fell into place, chance meetings with the right people at just the right moments. It felt like the universe's nod that I was on the right path. But, as flow states tend to do, mine eventually ebbed, and life's usual ups and downs took over. I found myself in a perpetual dance with external circumstances and those around me, a common human experience that many can relate to.
Over the years, a profound truth has become increasingly clear to me: that elusive state of flow may not be as elusive as we think. It can be harnessed from within, influencing our external reality. There are daily practices that can help us tap into this state, and today, I'm excited to share five of my favorite ones with you. While some of these may be familiar to some, they also might offer guidance and support to others, aiding you in achieving a state of flow more regularly:
Hydrotherapy: Whether it's a refreshing ocean dip, an invigorating ice-cold shower, or a relaxing hot bath, it's one of the quickest ways to reset your energy.
Meditating on the feeling of being in flow, allowing yourself to actually feel it in your body. This newer practice has been a game-changer for me and my nervous system.
Daydreaming: Allowing yourself the time to do nothing and let your imagination run free.
Dancing in solitude, just for yourself, without an audience, even if it's just for a few minutes.
Play, Laughter, and Presence: Engaging in playtime with my furry friend, spending quality moments with children and being fully present with them, watching a funny movie, or connecting with a friend who never fails to make me laugh.
